P.E.A.C.E. Homes
We forever believe: Positive Energy Always Corrects Error
PEACE Homes LLC is a rehabilitation organization with the sole purpose to uplift, correct, and heal the lives of cycled youth ages 12-17 in the juvenile justice system and in troubled communities. Our job is to provide an environment of short to medium-term, intensive supervision with care and treatment for residents who require stabilization and services geared to their eventual return home, or a less restrictive environment with the gained prowess of knowing themselves and improving their future.
Meet Geno Toney
Geno Toney has dedicated his life to the children of Akron and Summit County. He founded the Dream Team Youth Boxing program in 2014 to ensure that all children of our community have the skills and discipline they need to succeed. The core of the program is daily group boxing lessons and individual instruction for boys and girls ages five through eighteen. Additionally, Dream Team provides after school programming, tutoring, mentoring, transportation, competition boxing, and college scholarships.
The program is centered on the principles Geno Toney has studied, tested, and employed in his own life. His father was incarcerated when he was 10 years old. Geno found refuge in the boxing gym and developed a strong bond with his coach who taught him important lessons about boxing and life. Unfortunately after his coach died Geno fell back into the streets and ended up in jail. It was in jail that Geno intensively studied the principles of success and mapped out a program for teaching those principles to the next generation. After his release he started Dream Team Boxing to provide a structured program for the youth of Akron and Summit County.
P.E.A.C.E. Homes is the next stage of his vision. The goal is to provide an opportunity for our most at-risk youth to learn about and follow the narrow path of self-reliance, discipline, and success.
We need your help!
P.E.A.C.E. Homes, like Dream Team Youth Boxing, is by and of the community. We don't accept funding or resources from outside groups that want to influence the direction of the program. That means we need you.
If you have a little extra money, our cash app is $DTBLC. If you have a couple hours to volunteer, or any goods to donate, contact Geno at geno@peacehomes.org.
At the moment we could particularly use anyone that can swing a hammer or hold a paint brush to help us put the finishing touches on our very first P.E.A.C.E. House.
